I dare you to be a bit delusional

GM, legends – this week, let’s talk about hyping yourself up

Here’s your reminder: you are HIM. You are HER. Period.

Life as a digital nomad (or just life in general) isn’t always smooth sailing.

There are times we question ourselves, and when those waves of self-doubt hit, they ripple outward fast.

Negative self-talk will spiral into less opportunity, less action, less risk-taking—a downward loop we’ve all felt.

But let me make one thing clear:
You are not lazy.
You’re just being lazy in the moment—it’s a state, not your identity.

The world is a mirror. How you see yourself is how it reflects back at you.

This guy actually tried for a full year. Here’s how it went.

So here’s the deal: be delusional for the next week (or month or year).

  • You are the best.

  • You are unstoppable.

  • You are adaptable and always ready to grow.

  • You are learning, evolving, and capable of overcoming anything in your way.

  • You are everything you think you are.

This year, negative self-talk is out. It’s done.

Take a cue from Brian Tracy:

“The more you think and talk about problems, the more they preoccupy your mind, and the more your external world will be characterized by problems.”

Translation? The way you think shapes your world. Shift the narrative.

99% of the time, no one’s coming to save you. It’s on you.

Okay, now back to business.

Frosted Tips of the Week:

  • Pollution Levels Rising = Work From Home: The pollution levels in Bangkok are skyrocketing this time of year, with more than 350 schools closing this past week in the capital city. Many companies have given their employees the option to work from home and the city is also providing free public transit on their train systems to help combat this. I’m in Hanoi right now, and the air here is even worse.

  • Kia Ora: New Zealand just announced new visa rules that let you work remotely for foreign employers while enjoying the country. Whether you’re on a visitor visa, holiday visa, or NZeTA, you can stay and work for up to 90 days—with extensions available for up to 9 months. Another one to the list! (Go to the South Island if you’re a mountain lover)

  • AI Raises The Bar: Deepseek is INSANE. The fact that it’s fully open-source and only required 6-mil to build? I don’t want to ramble, read more on Deepseek here, but I will continue to preach to you…become fluent in AI. Work faster, smarter, and AI Consultancy roles will be booming this year, is it your calling? 💰

Nomad Diaries: Nini

Digital Nomad Profile: Nini
home city/country: Hanoi, Vietnam 🇻🇳
current base: Da Nang, Vietnam
role/profession: Web Designer
# of years as a digital nomad: 4

“hello :)), I didn’t exactly know what to put for my role because I actually do a few things. My 9-5 is Web Design for an agency that serves many Southeast Asian retail brands, but on the side I do lots of social media strategy for cafes around Vietnam! It doesn’t pay as much but I am trying to take your advice and sign my very first client in the US! I am 24 years old and have been a digital nomad since late 2020!

Tell us, why Vietnam if you’re a DN? I knew this was going to be asked haha. I spend every Tết New Year back in Vietnam to celebrate with my friends and family! Many people know the Chinese New Year, in Vietnam, it’s called Tết!

what’s your biggest digital nomad hack? Finishing my workday in 2 hours and then immediately working on my side work! I usually work very quickly.

biggest digital nomad f*ck up? Maybe undervaluing my work. I always do too many favors and charge too little. I told myself this year, I will raise my rates.

what’s your non-negotiable item when travelling? My little portable fan comes in handy lots. On the bus, the plane, the airports.

favourite & least favourite destination?

fav: Da Nang - It has the beach, it’s still very affordable, there’s plenty of digital nomads, an international airport, delicious pho, and ALWAYS something to do

least fav: I really didn’t like Phuket. It didn’t feel like authentic Thailand.

okay last one, one piece of advice for a new nomad? Charge what you’re worth plz
